The Med+ abstract competition offers resident doctors an opportunity to showcase their research to healthcare professionals from around the globe.

This year, we are accepting abstracts on the following topics:
Health services, policy and workforce development
Clinical, case reports, digital health
Research (including clinical, translational and innovation)
Education, training and medical professionalism
Quality improvement and patient safety, audit
Sustainability in health, health inequalities

Eligibility
All submissions must be for work that has been resident doctor led. This competition is open to resident doctors at all levels, from both the UK and overseas. Authors and co-authors must be a healthcare professional, work in healthcare or study medicine or a related field.

Prizes
Best overall presentation: £500 prize and in person ticket to Medicine 2026. The best presentation in each category will receive a certificate. This award is exclusive to in person participants who present at the conference. 
Best poster: £250 prize and an online ticket to Medicine 2026. A certificate will be awarded to the runner up. This award is exclusive to online participants whose posters are judged virtually. 

Submissions
The deadline to submit an abstract is Tuesday 2 September 11.59pm (BST). There is no limit to the number of abstracts an individual may submit as a co-author. However, please note that presentations must be delivered by a resident doctor, and a separate two-day ticket is required for each poster presented.

If you have multiple abstracts accepted, we recommend assigning a resident doctor co-author to present on your behalf where possible.

Winners
Results of the competition will be announced during the closing speech on day 2 of the conference and published here.
